Foster + Partners Launches “Civic Vision” Exhibition in Sydney

Foster + Partners has unveiled Civic Vision, the first major exhibition in Australia showcasing the full breadth of the architectural practice's work. Running until December 21, 2025, at Parkline Place—Sydney’s latest landmark project developed by Investa for Oxford Properties Group and Mitsubishi Estate Asia—the exhibition provides a detailed look at Foster + Partners’ global portfolio since Norman Foster founded the practice in 1967. Visitors can explore the evolution of the firm’s design philosophy and its approach to civic architecture across diverse contexts and scales.

Spanning six decades of innovation, Civic Vision presents early projects alongside recent developments, highlighting the continuity of ideas and their adaptation to contemporary architectural challenges. The exhibition is organized around three key themes: Community + Culture, Living + Working, and Planning + Mobility. It features notable Australian projects like Deutsche Bank Place and Salesforce Tower at Sydney Place, as well as iconic international works, including Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank Headquarters, Hong Kong International Airport, London’s 30 St Mary Axe, Berlin’s Reichstag, and the upcoming Zayed National Museum in Abu Dhabi.

Beyond showcasing individual buildings, the exhibition situates Foster + Partners’ work within broader conversations about urban development, public space, and sustainable design. Since the 1960s, the firm has combined technological innovation with environmental and social considerations, creating architecture that responds to contemporary civic needs while shaping the cities of tomorrow.
